Writing
My writing includes CBBC Tales from Malory Towers podcast currently on BBC Sounds. I was selected as CBBC Writersroom ‘New Voices’ class of 2020 and script read for Big Light Productions. My stageplay Bleeding with Mother came runner up for Best New Writing at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival where it had a successful 4 star run.
My other plays include At Home with the Johnsons and Big K’s Team Day (Hyde Festival Theatre, 2019 & 2017). Chums (Liverpool Playhouse, 2019). Black Dog (The King’s Arms Theatre, Salford, 2020). Bleeding with Mother was shortlisted for Best Drama, and also published by WFTS Publications in 2017. I co-created and co-wrote over one hundred episodes of Manchester community ALL FM ‘Station Road’, I have a BBC R4 ‘Newsjack‘ credit and most recently took part in MAP 48 Hour Filmmaking challenge where I wrote the award winning script ‘Through the Keyhole’.
Teaching
I’m a part-time lecturer in screenwriting. I supervise a number of dissertations in the areas of television studies, representation in media and film of gender, mental health etc. I’ve taught classes for Alty Word Fest, National Saturday Club and Salford Art Gallery.
Consultancy
I’m a freelance script reader and story analyst. I write a range of script reports for films, television series, audio, manuscripts and novels. My passion lies in storytelling and I enjoy working with writers to develop their craft.
Personal
I was born in Preston, Lancashire. I have an MA in Television and Radio Scriptwriting and a PGCE 14+. I live in Manchester with my three cats, two sons and one husband.
